Our Staff

• Senior Pastor – Mike Woods is the founding pastor of Grace Community Church and formerly served at Christian Fellowship Church, Ashburn, VA and Waterbrook Brethren Church, Edinburg, VA.   Pastor Mike attended Potomac State College of West Virginia University, Eastern Mennonite College, and Eastern Mennonite Seminary. In his early 40’s Mike began to recover from a lifetime of workaholism. His therapy now includes sailing, flying, and motorcycles. He’s been married to his wife Barbara for more than 34 years (the woman’s a SAINT!). They have two amazing children, Abbey and Jon, and two equally amazing grandchildren, Sydney and Brody. Mike’s still trying to figure out what he’s going to be when he grows up. His deep longing is to simply be more like Jesus and see the world transformed. • Spiritual Formation Pastor – Matt Vaught has been on staff with GCC since October 2009 as an Associate Pastor and is responsible for adult spiritual development through small groups and discipleship courses. Prior to joining the staff at Grace, Matt served for eight years as the Area Director for Young Life in the Northern Shenandoah Valley.  A graduate of Campbell University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Religion specializing in Christian Ministry, Matt’s goal is to encourage adults at Grace to become fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ and to take an active role in their personal spiritual development. Matt and his wife, Megan, have lived with their daughters, Ella and Sophie, in Winchester since 2004. (matt@gracecommunity.com)

• Associate Pastor of Operations – Tim DeLaughter rejoined the staff in October, 2010, having previously served Grace Community from May 2002 til Dec 2007.  He has served churches in Ohio, Indiana and New Jersey.  He graduated from Taylor University and holds a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Counseling degree from Ashland Theological Seminary.  Tim’s passion in life is helping people come alive and live out of their God given passions.  He is also quite passionate about his family (Michelle, Ian, Zeke & Havilah), his motorcycle (Miss Casey) and his beloved Green Bay Packers, but not always in that order.   (tim@gracecommunity.com)

• Associate Pastor of Creative Arts – Lee Reams came on staff in June 2011. He has been blessed to serve God professionally in many different ways over the past 16 years. Lee has served as a youth leader, associate pastor of a 350 member church, Y.W.A.M. missionary, technical a/v adviser, instructional designer, graphic designer, co-pastor of a new church plant, and most recently an associate pastor of connection and spiritual development in a church of 800-1000 members. Lee received his B.A. in Bible and Theology from Lee University in Cleveland, TN and a M.A. in Christian Leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary in Lexington, KY. Lee is originally from Deep Creek Lake, MD and has been married to his wife Jamie for 16 years. He has two children…Caedmon and Mckinley. Lee enjoys spending time with his family in nature and is an avid fan of anything that Apple computers creates. (lee@gracecommunity.com)

• Youth Pastor – Stephen Marut joined GCC staff in November 2010.  He grew up in Winchester and graduated from John H. Handley high school.   He is a graduate of Liberty University and is attending Ashland Theological Seminary.  Stephen and his wife Lacey live in Stephens City.  He also coaches soccer and is involved in Young Life.  Stephen is very good at bowling.  (stephen@gracecommunity.com)
